Rupesh Kumar Choubey serves as the Head of the Centre for Community Development Practices (C-CDP) at the Sustainable Bharat Foundation (SBF). With a postgraduate degree in Commerce and over a decade of hands-on experience in rural development, community mobilization, and participatory outreach, he plays a pivotal role in driving SBF’s on-ground initiatives and grassroots engagement.

Rupesh has worked extensively with rural communities across Bihar, guiding them in livelihood improvement, behavioural change, and climate-resilient agricultural practices. One of his notable contributions includes his mentorship in millet-based agriculture and nutrition, where he supported farmers in adopting climate-resilient millet varieties, improving household nutrition, and creating market linkages for millet-based products. This experience positions him uniquely to strengthen SBF’s sustainable agriculture and community-oriented climate action programs.

At SBF, Rupesh leads the organization’s community development vertical, ensuring that all field interventions—whether livelihood programs, awareness campaigns, resilience-building activities, or social outreach—are grounded in community needs and implemented with sensitivity, inclusiveness, and strong local ownership.
