Fellow- Biodiversity and Sustainability Policies

Vibhupriya Singh is a sustainability and policy professional with over a decade of experience working across biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, ecosystem-based adaptation, and environmental governance in India. She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development Practices from TERI and has worked extensively with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and allied national institutions, engaging closely with senior government officials and international agencies at national and sub-national levels.

Her work spans agricultural biodiversity, sustainable food systems, access and benefit sharing (ABS), and nature-based solutions, with significant contributions to India’s biodiversity governance framework. She has played a key role in documenting and reporting conservation initiatives recognized as Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures (OECMs), contributing to national guidelines, screening best practices under the India Biodiversity Awards, and supporting global commitments under the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. She has also been involved in capacity building, policy analysis, and development of Bio-cultural Community Protocols across multiple states.

In recent years, Vibhupriya’s work has focused on agrobiodiversity and sustainable food systems, including tracking flagship schemes such as PM-PRANAM, supporting BIOFIN-led policy reform initiatives, and contributing to multi-country programmes like the Himalayan Agroecology Initiative. With strong expertise in policy research, stakeholder engagement, and strategic programme design, she brings a systems-oriented and evidence-based approach to advancing biodiversity-positive and climate-resilient development pathways.
